Dr. Victor D. Rosenthal is a medical doctor specializing in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and infection prevention, with a PhD in epidemiology. He conducts research on the epidemiology and prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and develops online platforms for HAI surveillance. He is the founder and Chief Scientific Officer of the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC), leading 2,500 researchers across 45 countries in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. He is the director of the Master of Public Health program and an associate professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the INS Infusion Therapy and Vascular Access Standards of Practice. Additionally, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the 2024 Recommendations to Prevent CLABSI, published by the International Society of Infectious Diseases. He has published 450 scientific studies, been cited over 34,000 times, and holds an H-index of 77.
